“The factory will make whatever you ask for,” Fairbairn says. “We are here to make sure what you are asking for is actually the right thing.”

Quality Engineered at the Beginning
Most founders think quality is something you verify at the end of production while Morpho defines a quality standard document for every product before tooling begins.
This document sets tolerances, inspection methods, and defect categories at a point where changes are still affordable. Once tooling is committed, those decisions are locked in and expensive to revisit. A design that looks correct in a prototype often encounters the realities of mass production: injection molding requires different geometry than hand-assembly, tolerances stack differently at scale, materials behave differently in automated processes.
The real work happens before a single unit is produced.
“Quality is something you engineer in at the beginning,” Fairbairn says. “Not at the end of the manufacturing process.”
This approach requires telling founders the truth about their designs early, even when it is not what they want to hear. Morpho has seen founders spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on beautiful renderings that could not be manufactured. Pretty pictures do not have tolerances, a DFM file does.
